The ActiveCampaign email marketing add-on allows you to include an option for customers to join your ActiveCampaign email list during the checkout process.

Configuration Instructions for ActiveCampaign

1. Install the ActiveCampaign plugin and navigate to the settings via WordPress admin → Downloads → Settings → Marketing > ActiveCampaign.
2. Enter your API URL, API Key, and List ID for ActiveCampaign. You can find these details under Settings → Developer in your ActiveCampaign account dashboard.
3. Set a Checkout Label and click Save Settings. This will make the available lists appear.

Adding Customers to Lists

Customers can be added to lists in two ways:

1. By choosing a list in the plugin settings and selecting “Show Signup on Checkout.” This will give customers the option to opt in to the selected list during checkout.
2. Inside the product settings, you can specify a list to which customers should be added after purchasing a particular product. Customers will need to opt in during checkout to be added to this list.

Troubleshooting

If emails are not being added to a list that was selected in the Download’s Per-Product Lists, it is likely because the customer did not opt in during checkout. If the opt-in option is not selected, the email will not be added to the default list or any per-product lists. Only when the opt-in option is selected will the email address be added to the default list and any other selected per-product lists.
